TP Mazembe Lose 0-1 Against Al Hilal in Champions League

TP Mazembe missed their entrance in the group stage of the Orange CAF Champions League on Friday after losing against Al Hilal of Sudan.

The Lubumbashi club lost on the narrow score of one goal to nil in Omdurman, a city located 14 km from Khartoum (Sudan).

Al Hilal’s goal was scored by striker Hassan Salah on 55th minute.

The Sudanese club dominated the match from the start. But despite attacks from either side, no goal was scored in the first half.

The Zambian referee Janny Sikazwe sent both clubs to the locker room on the blank score 0-0.

Back from the break, Al Hilal multiplied attacks and managed to open the scoring in the 55th.  The score remained unchanged until the final whistle.

With this narrow victory, Al Hilal is throne temporarily at the top of Group A of the Orange CAF Champions League with 3 points and one goal scored.

TP Mazembe will play their second group match on May 25 against AS Vita Club, the other DR Congo club in groupe A, in Lubumbashi.
