The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the schedule for Orange CAF Champions League first leg involving Heartland FC ( Nigeria ) and T.P. Mazembe (DR Congo) for Sunday, November 1st at Owerri, Nigeria.
The encounter, originally fixed for Saturday, October 31, was rescheduled after a critical review of some organizational related activities with respect to the game.
CAF has subsequently informed all parties involved of the latest development.
The clash will be the third time the two clubs will be meeting in the prestigious club competition this term, after the mini-league stage.
Meanwhile, the second leg will take on the 7th of November in the Congolese city of Lubumbashi.
T.P. Mazembe are twice winners of the competition; 1967 and 1968 whilst Heartland are making their maiden appearance on the continental stage.
At stake is a 1, 500, 000 US Dollar prize-money and a ticket to represent African at the FIFA World Club Championship slated for the United Arab Emirates in December.
