The French news agency, AFP, reported Saturday most of the victims of the overnight attack were women and children who were hacked and clubbed to death. North Kivu governor Julien Paluku said the search will continue to find other bodies. He said 251 bodies have been recovered out of 292 that were onboard the ill-fated boat.
New DR Congo amnesty law welcomed by UN envoys

According to military sources, Col. Mamadou Ndala died after a rocket hit his vehicle near the village of Mazizi.
