The social problems of the post-war transition in the Democratic republic of Congo were at the heart of the meeting between the president of the Episcopal Conference of Congo (CENCO), monsignor Laurent Monsengwo Pasinya, and the head of state, Joseph Kabila. MISNA sources in Kinshasa confirmed this. During the meeting - described as fruitful by some -the two leaders discussed issues related to the teachers' strike that has paralyzed the public education system in the Congo, and that has even affected private schools. Moreover, the president of the Congolese bishops has also discussed with the head of state the theme of the formation of the national army - in which after the peace accords, the various rebel groups have not yet completed their integration after the civil war lasting from 1998-2003 - and the electoral process in view of the elections of 2006.
